COMMUNITY GROUP USE

The Green Dragon bus is available for local group use and can be booked by telephoning
the office on 0845 6860242

The minibus is a 16 seater including the driver.

The group membership fee is £10.00 per year.
There is a minimum charge of £20.00 which includes the first 20 miles, then 95p/mile.

This charge includes fuel, insurance and a contribution towards vehicle costs (maintenance, servicing, etc.)

Groups will be invoiced within 1 month after use and payment is required within 30 days of invoice.

We have had some unfortunate cases recently where the bus has been booked & then cancelled with less than 24 hours notice. This happened on two occasions in the last week & both times someone else who had wanted the bus has been turned away.This is not fair to anyone.

Our policy is that in future if you cancel the bus with less than 36 hours notice to us,
we will charge you the minimum £20.

Of course it is better for you & all our customers that you give us more notice as there is frequently someone else who wants to use the bus!

We advise that groups provide their own drivers who must have the appropriate qualifications -
MiDAS. Minibus Drivers Awareness Scheme.

We can supply the training for the MiDAS qualification.
If you can not find your own driver we do have a list of volunteer drivers who may drive for you.

Please note that the co-ordinator of the PRTA is paid for 15 hours/week.
There are 168 hours in a week, so she is paid for 6.66% of that week, or if you prefer 1.6 hours each day.

During that 1 hour 36 minutes she has to drive the bus for various journeys, including dial-a-ride trips, publicity etc. She also attends several committee meetings each month. She gives talks to other organisations about the PRTA & how it works. She has the office paperwork to keep up to date, & if she has any spare time she answers the telephone.

As you might expect you have little chance of reaching her to speak to her personally so
please use the answerphone, & telephone between 9'oclock & 10'oclock in the morning, Monday to Friday
