Our Buses

We now have three buses working for the communities of north Pembrokeshire & beyond.

Two of our buses were bought new (Mercedes Sprinters), & the third (a VW)was second hand. It is this second hand vehicle that has been converted to run on vegetable oil by "Veg Oil Motoring".

 

The Mercedes come into the country as white vans & are converted by Oughtred & Harrison in Goole. They work closely with the PRTA to make sure the bus has the features that will suit the local passengers & environment here in west Wales.

All three buses are totally accessable with a lift at the rear, & can accomodate wheelchair passengers.

 

On the front & back of each bus are designs by Douglas Wilson, & the scale idea & design on the sides is by Sigma.

 

I think you will agree these designs ensure you will see us on the road

 

 

The Green Dragon made a personal visit to Sigma in Goodwick to see how they were getting on with the bus. Here are the lads at Sigma finishing the back of GDIII. They also did some cut outs so that the Green Dragon would not be alone!

Our latest bus, Green Dragon III was wholly funded by the lottery, so our grateful thanks to them for their help. I think you will agree that the money has been well spent & will help many people access facilities that might have been closed to them in the past.

The PRTA work closely with all their suppliers, and where possible use local people. They assess various buses for size & shape before coming to a conclusion about which one will suit them & you. Some might be too long (see below) & another was too low & gave a very bouncy ride.
